Daniel K. Wiig is an associate at Mintz & Gold LLP, where his practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation. He began his legal career as the Commercial Division law clerk to Hon. Richard B. Lowe III, New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division. He then served as law clerk to Hon. Eileen Bransten, also in the Commercial Division.

Previously, while attending evening law school, Mr. Wiig was the law clerk for the General Counsel's Office of Ernst & Young LLP and spent a summer in the Division of Market Surveillance at the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to his legal career, he worked in project management and strategic relations at Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters) and was a compliance examiner for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Investment Management.

Mr. Wiig is the Co-Chair of the New York County Lawyers' Association Young Lawyers' Section. Prior to his appointment as co-chair in May 2010, Mr. Wiig chaired the Section's Subcommittee on the Judiciary, where he organized the successful "In Chambers" Program. In addition, Mr. Wiig serves as chair of the Judge Recruiting Team for the New York City Bar's National Moot Competition; is a member of the Commercial Division Committee of the New York State Bar's Commercial and Federal Litigation Section; and sits on the Board of Directors of Helping is Easy, Inc.

Mr. Wiig is also a contributor to legal scholarship. He wrote an article for the spring 2007 issue of the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law, titled "U.C.C. Article 2 Warranties and Internet-Based Transactions: Do the Article 2 Warranties Sufficiently Protect Internet-Based Transactions With Unprofessional Internet Merchants?”; was part of the teams who drafted the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 problems for the New York City Bar's National Moot Court Competition; judged both that Competition and Fordham Law School's Kauffman Moot Court Competition; and lectured on the differences between the New York State and Federal Court Systems at St. John's University.

Mr. Wiig is a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Fellow of the Center for the Study of International Business Law. He received an MBA from Fordham University and a B.S., cum laude, from St. John's University.

He is admitted to the New York, New Jersey, and District of Columbia Bars, and to the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
